We moved here from Utah and the standard of Arrowwood, and all Douglas County Schools, is light-years ahead of what it is in Utah. The technology, the specials offered (they have an AMAZING art program) and the building and playground are wonderful. Don't worry about the negative reviews of Arrowwood - every school has some parents who won't be happy. The principle is so dedicated and truly loves the students - she welcomes my 1st-grader, by name, when she walks into school each day. As we get more positive, involved families who want to actually be proactive instead of just complaining, the school will get even better.
I have 2 children in this school. I would give it a huge thumbs down review. The kids are impulsively sent to the principal's office and don't deal with anything within the classroom. We are not staying here. I will move before sending my kids here a 2nd year. Poor instruction, poor leadership, but great front office ladies. Check their turnover rate--you'll see, even teachers don't stay....

We're starting our fifth year at Arrowwood and are very happy that our kids are here. We've seen definite improvements since the first year. The teachers that we have come to know are dedicated to helping each student succeed. The office staff is wonderful, the facility is great, the 'specials' teachers (PE, music, art, etc.) extraordinary, and they keep adding new technology resources. Obviously no school is perfect, and often you get out of it what you put into it, but we would recommend this school to friends.
