The people that have posted about south are teachers and parents; of course they are going to say its great. The students are the only ones who know abut how un organized this school is. We have rules that are pointless and need rules that actually matter. I would highly not recommend moving to the area for this school.

I taught at South, now retired, and am impressed by the leadership today. The programs which were of great quality then continue to be, especially the music program. Has econ and good gov't classes. I applaud the parent who wanted diversity. Too many parents want carbon copies of their own kids, and multicultural experiences for them are few. South's leadership in 'Unity' is superb.

I have had one student pass through South and presently have two students at South. I have found South to be a very student friendly place. The staff is very willing to help any student and the administration takes the time to identify those students with special needs and makes sure these students are not left behind. My students have always been involved in the school community with different academic and athletic activities. So we like the wide variety offered. My husband and I have found that parents who choose to be involved at South are always welcome and generally put to use. One of the things that I like about this school is it's student diversity. With a large population of diffent cultures and backgrounds my students have gotten a chance to learn about different people and also about different cultures.

I have had 2 children go through Waukesha South High School, and have been overall very pleased by the high level of education they received. Academics are challenging, and involve a significant amount of homework. The level of instruction has prepared them well for their post-secondary education. There are an abundance of extracurricular opportunities, which have been very meaningful to my children- including participation in sports, leadership experiences, volunteer work, music, etc. The Waukesha South music program is superior to many schools in the area, with many vocal and instrumental ensembles, competition, and talented instructors. The school's Art program has been nationally recognized as one of the best! School staff and administration are extremely involved in the school and community, which has been positive role-modeling for the students.
