I have had both of my children at Causey and I loved the school. Both of my children are in pace and straight A students and if the parent and teachers work hard together each child should always have good grades. I truly feel that there should be more teachers at the end of the school day to watch the kids get on the buses and carpool line. They need to be monitored very closely. I am in the carpool line and children do get out of hand and there are not enough teachers out there to discipline. Overall, Causey Middle is a excellent school.
This is my sons first full year at Causey and I don't know if it's the age of the kids or the school, but I have been in the car pool line numerous times and witnessed fights that other students have broken up, the teachers never even knew what had happened. Also, my son was challenged by 6 boys in the restroom to participate in 30 seconds; this is were the kids figure out who is tougher, which is absolutley ridiculous. Overall, the teachers do have an I don't care attitude but if you stay on top of the childs grades the teachers will work with thim.
I recently left Causey (going into 9th grade) and overall it was a great school. All of my teachers where excelent (except two out of my three math teachers didn't teach my anything). The fights were slightly over average, but the teachers tried reallt hard to stop this (I have seen Mr. Burks along with other teachers get hit in the face trying to break kids up) but it is hard to control unruly kids, especially at 12 or 13 years old. I do have to agree the uniform policy was way to strict. I completely understant the no saggy pants or shirt skirts (not one inch to short but no one wants to see young girls walking around with three inches of fabric around there waste) and no one wants to see guys boxers or butts either!
