I go to Hanahan High, and I think it's great there. I love the JROTC program and all the teachers are great, I recommend Hanahan High 100% for anyone kids.
As much as I wanted to say how Hanahan High was amazing, I couldn't. The students are cruel and racist, the teachers don't care, and the curriculum is questionable. For the two years I went to this school, I was miserable and depressed. However, it is my home town, and normally I'd do my best to defend it, but I won't lie to you. It's not a good school. Although, some teachers are exceptions. Such as the 9th grade Science teacher, Ms. Singletary. She was diagnosed with breast cancer, but continued to teach her students in between her chemo sessions. Another exception would be Ms. Tillman. Another Science teacher, but for 10th grade. She may seem annoying at times, but she really tries her best to get her students to pass.
The only thing that I can see that it needs improvement is 'favoritism' that is widely known in this state. If you're not one of the 'good ole boys' ...forget it and makes your life a misery along with your child as well and anything little thing he does he will be blamed for it! But, my son likes this school and has been going from Hanahan Elem thru High school and its one of the 'better' schools here in this state! If I had a choice and money was not a problem, would of sent him to a Private School.
I like Hanahan High Alot. My whole family has graduated from there. It use to be alot different, how the school looked how techers were and how students were. When i look at the school now it's still good but not as good, the teachers act like they don't care, you can ask them a question 1 time there fine 2 or 3 ok but 4 or 5 they get mad. And then i say i'm sorry i just don't understand and they look at me like i'm dumb so then i feel stupied, when actually they should cause that's there job. I had two reasons for dropping out of school last year and this was the second one!!
