It is award winning; every grade level performs an annual production; it is physically beatiful; it has a unique history; the staff and students are the best ever!
4 years ago, our family moved from Williamsburg to Florida. My son was at MW for Kindergarten and 1 semester of 1st grade. Sadly, Florida schools were all they are rumored to be. What a contrast! Now, we're finally back 'home' and I'm happy my son gets one more year at MW. I couldn't be happier with the attention and kindness we've received through every moment of our re-entry. It's great to be back and my kids love coming to school here! Honestly!
My children love this school ,Moving from Nj to Va has been the smartest move my family has made, The teachers have done a wonderful job with both my kids, threre both in third grade twins. I was sad when i heard the Mrs Miller had moved to a differnt school my daughter really likes her she looked out for her.
My children were enrolled at Matthew Whaley for only a short time before I began to see a difference in their attitudes, their love of school, and their reading abilities. It was amazing to me that so much growth could occur in such a short period of time. I feel as if the school community as a whole engulfed my children with support and high expectations. From the moment we first arrived and met with the office staff and the reading teach for placement (and incredibly detailed feedback for such a short 10 minute assessment) till the end of the year fifth grade graduation experience for my oldest child, we have all as a family, appreciated how lucky we are to be at Matthew Whaley. Partners in Print, an incredibly involved PTA, strong teachers who keep in great communication, super after school programs, building cleanliness....the list goes on and on!
