I am starting my 10th year with children in this school and I have to say that I am absolutely happy with the environment and programs here. Most of the teachers are very good but as with any school you will have teachers that are only 'ok'. fortunately that experience has only been with the specials. My oldest graduated 8th grade last year and I think the math program here is among the best. I like the Catholic environment too and appreciate that my children are learning about their religion as well as their academics. I would and have recommended the school to others.
Hello. I am going into 8th grade at Mary of Nazareth School. I think that its a great school and the people her are absulutly wonderful! The teachers are average but there are a few that are great! I have been at this school since i was in kindergarten and have loved every year of it! All of my friends are really great people that come from great familes! Im very excited for my 8th grade year to come and I will be so upset to leave this great school when the time comes. I have made wonderful friends that will last a liftime, have excelled in many subjects, I am involved in many after school activities clubs and sports such as Ski club, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, track, etc and I have enjoyed EVER bit of it!Overall, I totally and fully recomend mon to everyone and anyone!

I have an academically gifted child and researched schools extensively. The Catholic schools use a curriculum mandated by the Archdiocese of Washington, which Mary of Nazareth is building on to make more challenging. Here, reading is leveled in the early grades and math is leveled from 4th grade on. Middle school students participate in a science fair, but they do not have Math Counts! or Odyssey of the Mind teams. There is a resource department to help students which seems geared toward those who are struggling rather than the high end students, but I see that everywhere as a result of 'No Child Left Behind.' There is a very strong faith community, and discipline and values are a significant part of the student experience. The principal is very hands-on and knows every student's name. I consider the school to be a good value and a good fit for my child.

I attended the school for my middle school years and am now in high school. I couldn't stand it and my younger siblings remained at the school until recently. My mom has decided to switch them because there just isn't enough for my sister who has ADD or for my other sister who thinks her math class is too easy. I know from experience that MON did nothing to challenge me in school and, as a result, I was placed into the wrong science and math classes my freshman year of high school. When I entered high school, I realized that MON had done nothing to get me prepared, even though they constantly said they were getting me ready. There are very few sports, clubs, and a poor music program, which was a very important thing to me as a child that had to be taken away. I was not happy.
