I am a TAG student going into the 8th grade. I am not even in the 8th grade yet and i already have taken algebra 1 and got advanced profeicny. Like many other TAG students i also take honors english and got advanced profiency. Also, next year i will be recieving 3 more highschool credentials. So yes if you actually follow through the whole system there is plenty of things for a TAG student at KCMS.

My daughter is in her second year at Kate Collins. In every instance where she had difficulty, the administration stepped in and nipped the problems in the bud. I do agree with prior posts about not being enough for TAG students as my daughter is one too. What I would rate lowest is the parent involvement. I coordinate parent volunteers for PTO and try to provide lots of opportunity for parents to be involved with staff and we get very few volunteers willing to come to the school.

The staff my child has encountered while attending this school for the most part have been a joy to work with. My concern as the parent of a TAG student is that there are major problems with that program and no one seems willing or able to make the changes that are needed.
I attend KCMS and although its not the safest or cleanest school environment around, I feel we do pretty well academically. There's a lot of great qualities too, like have you heard about us joining the 'Pay It Forward' movement? I'm not going to sit here and list them all but I am going to sit here to inform you that KCMS is a wonderful place for your kid to get an education academically AND socially.
