I have been disappointed in Highland and I am suprised that it is rated a 10. My kids found the class work easy and unchallenging a grade level behind. Not enough focus on academics in Kindergarten just a repeat of preschool. Lack of all-day curiculumn for an all day paid program. You should get more for what you pay for. There is not enough opportunities for parents to get involved because the only ones that are involved are working for the school. Most parents just drop kids and drive away there invisible unless it is a special event. No room moms or classroom helpers ever, only during parties. Principal is hardly ever visible my own kids even commented 'How come he never tells us we do a good job daily'. Teachers and office personnel are very gossipy with each other and difficult to approach.

This is the 4th year we have had children at Highland. It is a wonderful school. Parents are always welcome in the school and there is a high level of parent involvement. The teachers truly care about each student and do whatever they can to help each student succeed. When our son struggled with focus and getting work done, his teacher was in constant contact with us and was willing to try new ideas to get him motivated. There are great music and art programs in place, even in addition to the regular classes. After-school activities are offered throughout the year as well. We are so pleased to have had such a wonderful experience at Highland. Our children are learning, succeeding, and enjoying school!
