I have a lot of great memories of being a student there. Roosevelt has some great teachers and consistently performs well all around. I liked being part of a public school that encouraged curiosity and investigation and I carry that with me today.

lazy teachers who are would rather spend the day chatting online and handing out pre-printed worksheets show litle imagination or motivation. I haven't seen much one-on-one teacher interaction either. every time I visit, they are stting at their desk while kdis are running rampant.. and Why does District 81 have a late start thursdays? Dont they have enough days off? They are way overpaid for doing something I could do at home for free

Roosevelt may be great if you've been at the school for many years, but as a newcomer, your view of the school may be different like mine. I tried to get invovled (I've always been on LSIC or PTO) and was excluded. I would show up for parent meetings and plannings of activities, leave a contact number and address and never hear about upcoming meetings, plannings, etc. In addition, with a teacher that is near retirement, I've had many days my child has come home and said the class literally did zippo! Every Parent-teacher meeting, when I inquire about curriculum that I know would be taught at other county/state schools (I'm from another state) the teacher would reply they do not teach that because it is not on the WASL. And forget about Extracurricular Activities...
