I was very disappointed with this school. My son was initially on an IEP and was placed in Rene Rego's class, in which he did very well. However, after a year the administration pushed for him to be off of an IEP, and that is when things went dramatically downhill. The teacher he had the second year did virtually nothing with the children and the administration let it happen. It got so bad that when I would go in to volunteer the teacher would spend her time online shopping. Absolutely unacceptable. We ended up sending our son to a private school where he is excelling as a regular education student.
My son attends the Macomber school which he tranferred to half way through the school year, they welcomed him with open arms and made him feel extremely comfortable. At his previous school he seemed to be getting in trouble a fair amount, but since he has switched this has been phenominal. The teachers are absolutely excellent, his behavior at home has changed completely and he is now excited to go to school each morning which is an absolute blessing. This is a wonderful school with an absolute wonderful staff who pay close attention to each and every childs needs. I hope that I never leave Westport because this school has been amazing!!

I have been extremely pleased with the teachers and staff with their support and knowledge of children with special needs. The teachers take the time to talk to you about your child regarding progress or lack there of. My daughter has Linda Isaksen and I can not say enough about how she has made an impact on my family, both personally and educationally with her support. We wish Ms.I could always be her teacher!

I have had three small children. In recent years, two have graduated from Pre-K and K. My third is in pre-k for her third year. I can't say enough about the school or the teachers. Ms. I and her staff are an A+. I feel I've lucked out living in Westport, having my kids attend the Macomber. I wanted all three of my children to reap the benefits of attending an integrated preschool/kindergarten. The Pre-k classroom is right on the mark.
