We are in our last year at Washington and I can only say good things about the our experience. The teachers are wonderful, the curriculum excellent. We have only praise for the entire school. One would think if you have a long waiting list every year that this program would be expanded. We are very sad to leave and wish it went through 8th grade.

Washington represents everything that can be right in a public school - overwhelming parent involvement, high expectations for EVERYONE, a rigid code of conduct, intensive instruction of the Three Rs (Core Curriculum). Kids leaving Washington have the effective equivalent of a private school education. It's a shame that they don't adopt this model nationwide and skip the failed new-age curricula. We moved to the Twin Cities - and now - grades later, the metro schools are only beginning to cover the material my kids mastered at Washington three years ago.

The Core Knowledge Curriculum is wonderful! The children learn things I never learned (including through my Bachelor's Degree). It's a small enough school that you know the more active parents, know the teachers, and most of the children. There were Foreign Language Clubs, Drama Club, Destination Imagination, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts available through the school. Plus, Math Masters and Jr. Great Books to enhance the curriculum.
