FALA is the best school in Arizona. Students excell in the arts, as well as their core subjects. Everyone of my friends is on honor roll, and is talented in some way or another.

A school for the self starter, for the motivated. A school where you can grow your own way, with encouragement and support. Cliques are discouraged, competition is between you and yourself, students help one another in all ways, everyone goes to dances and proms, there is no artificial division by age or grade. The arts flourish, individuality is encouraged. This is not a school for sheep, it is for serious students with vision. My son is in his 3rd year, he jams with his teachers, dances and drums with his teachers, is pushed to be great!

Academic programs are better than some public schools, but mostly because classes are smaller. Student/teacher interaction is encouraged to a point. Teaching methods are primarily audio-sequential and not particularly innovative, alternative or progressive. Same old stuff. The school is supposed to specialize in music, dance, theatre and art. The art room is small and crowded, supplies limited. The number of choices of art classes is small. There is only one music teacher to teach the different classes. The theatre classes are also very limited. Dance is really the focus. So if your student is into dance it might be a good place. The principal is more concerned with discipline than the quality of experience for the individual student. He obviously likes some, dislikes others.
