As I student it is quite evident that I am aware of the problems that need to be fixed, we need more educated teachers for more AP courses to be offered, we need building repairs, we need better althetic programs for certain sports, and we also need more parent involvement. But none of these obstacles can be overcome without money. DHS doesn't have money to pay more advanced teachers and pay advisors to run new clubs. Where does this money come from? The state. How do we get more money from the state? High Test scores. Academics should be the main focus at DHS. For me, the best part about DHS is that you can take students from any different group of people, put them in a room together for 2 hours, and by the time they will be able to leave the room everyone will be friends.
Parents in the community should spend more time focusing on supporting and extending academic programs at this school and less time micromanaging the sports programs. This school presents some great academic and extracurriculuar opportunity, but there is not enough community support to really enhance the students' experiences.

Dixon High School is average at best. The teachers do not return phone calls. This is my daughters 2nd year there, and I am not impressed at all. When you have a problem, you are passed from person to person, and no one takes responsibility for anything. We are in the process of moving to a private school. Think twice before moving to this area unless you are going to a private school! We have 2 other daughters in private school too!

The students here are a different bunch, many times, they require discipline that isn't always available with such a large school setting. Students enjoy an open campus lunch and a beautiful riverview close to downtown. McDonalds, Subway, and three pizzerias are a 5 minute walk away. This school has many traditional athletics such as girls and boys basketball, golf, tennis, wrestling, bowling, football, cheerleading, and a dance team. There are also various community service organizations. The school could use more support staff as well as better parent involvement. Also, a few more extracurricular clubs would be nice.
