I really love coming here, and the teachers are really great. You learn a lot, and get to take part in plenty of fun projects. It's very comforting, and Hankey's a great place to send your kids.
Go Hawks! We love Carl Hankey. Great staff. Experienced teachers. Our new Principal, Dr. Wilbur is awsome! My child is a GATE student since 2nd grade. He's in 6th grade now and is taking all accelerated courses. Thanks to all great teachers who kept him challenged all these years! Hankey is working on becoming an IB program school. This is no doubt going to benefit our students. Go Hawks!
Carl Hankey MS (now 6-8) has been a wonderful learning experience for my children and my neighbor s. We are all so happy that none of our teens have fallen through any cracks at such a tempting age. The new principal is moving forward into an International Baccalaureate program which will be giving our children even more tools to face the global market and high school. They will be trained creative thinking, commit community service hours, learn a second language, and discover why learning all this stuff is important later in life. Teachers will be given the tools to go back to the days when teaching was fun and creative, yet still instilling all of those standards our kids need for those Star test scores. GO HAWKS! I am so thankful for the option of K-8 with the smaller middle school of 300 and smaller class sizes!
My child has excelled at Carl Hankey Middle School. As a GATE student, she has been able to stay with higher learners and has participated in great programs including Destination Imagination, honor orchestra, math field day and science fair. Teachers are encouraging and easy to communicate with. As a K-8 school, classes tend to be smaller and the children are more well known to staff.
