Alanton Elementary School

We have always had a dedicated, child oriented and hard working staff. but when Dr Jeanne Crocker (principal) & Joe Benson (AP) became administrators Alanton has gone from a very good school to a truly a remarkable school community Dr Crocker keeps us current on important research and teaching techniques. We are all (students, teachers, support personnel, parents, business community) members of the Alanton family. Everyone is accepted, encouraged to grow and supported in hard times. Respect for others physically,emotionally and intellectually is fostered. I cannot list here all the programs available during the school day to foster physical, mental and community health. Children learn to respect and encourage themselves and others to be proud of their gifts and pursue knowledge.

We are very impressed with Alanton Elementary. Our son was in their special-ed pre-school class last year and truly thrived, due to the attention given to him by his teacher, her assistant, the speech therapist and the occupational therapist. In fact, he is improved so drastically, he didn't need to be in special ed any longer, and is now in their Early Discoveries Pre-K program, where he is currently thriving once again. The admin staff is right on top of things.

My daughter is currently in 1st grade at Alanton. She attended kindergarten there as well. She has learned a lot while attending this school and has thoroughly enjoyed the teachers and staff. The school is great and has a lot of programs for the children to participate in. We will be moving soon and I am sad to be leaving such a wonderfully involved school. The PTA is extremely involved in this school and puts together many extra programs for the students. The school also participates in operation smile, with the children raising money for this organization; what a great lesson for children in selflessness and altruism.

My husband and I feel so very fortunate to have our children enrolled in Alanton Elementary School. The faculty and staff are exceptional! Teachers go out of their way to include every child in some type of school activity as well as recognizing students for academic and citizenship accomplishments. Our principal. Jeanne Crocker does a wonderful job of matching students with teachers that help them to achieve their academic potential and more! Alanton also offers a an excellent music program for all grades and parents and students alike can look forward to special performances throughout the year. In addition to quality staff, the school is also lucky to have a very involved PTA that contributes to the school in so many aspects. This year our PTA organized the schools first art show and auction to help support the schools cultural enrichment programs. How lucky we are!
