We are very happy with the curriculum and how much the teachers and administration care. Most of the parents are involved (which is required) and that really makes a difference in the quality of the education. They aren't quite as strict as the impression you may get from the literature, but way better than MPS. Plus, there are more interesting and fun opportunities for learning. Academics and character are the focus at the school.
Midland Academy offers a great compliment to the many progessive preschool programs offered in the city of Midland. Many preschool programs are so advanced here that if you want your child to continue to be challenged then private school is the only choice, Midland Academy is the private school alternative with a public school price. The class sizes are small and everybody knows everyone else. Even as early as Kindergarten the classes start out very tactile and get the children out of their seats to learn. And the teachers use many different forms of media to teach the kids. It is challenging but small enough to notice if a child is struggling. My children love their school
I love the fact our kids can earn college credit at the schools expence! My daughter will have the chance to earn an Associates Degree by the time most other kids her age are just starting college. Good Grief, how great is that in this day and age!?!
We ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Academy! Looking for a tuition-free alternative to private school or traditional public school? Is home-schooling not an option? Check out the Academy! It serves grades k-12 so children don't ever need to change schools. Uniforms are required which makes fashion easy for kids trying to survive in an overly fashion conscious world. Academics? TERRIFIC! Parent involvement? AWESOME! The school embraces parents as active partners in your child's education. Teacher quality? UNSURPASSED! Safety and Discipline? ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL! The Academy emphasizes good character and rewards it. This truly is a terrific place to send your kids and I hope that you will at least consider it as an option.
