Taunton High School prepared my oldest son to get into the college of his dreams (Berklee College of Music). THS has something for everyone, and his foundation in music and academics brought him to where he is now. Now, THS is preparing my 15 year-old junior to go to the college of HIS dreams. That's right--he just turned 15 and is a junior in high school. This public, urban high school that sometimes get a 'bad rap', with about 2,000 students, was able to accomodate my son so that he could advance outside of the norm, and be prepared to fulfill his dreams. Both of my children have had the opportunity to be in a public and diverse institution that boosted them to become individuals.

I was not happy with Taunton High School. They quality of academic programs were poor. Their Guidance department does not go out of their way for each child. They gear themselves to students who they feel have a potential to go to college. The level of parent involvement is 0. I tried many times to get involved with the school. They would commit to the time you were there but never followed up with me after. All in all I was not happy with their school. Due to the way their Guidance is handled my son, now a senior does not have the required courses to go onto a 4 year college. He now has to go to a two year and then transfer over. My over all rating for this school is a F for failing to help all children.
