My son has attended St Peters from K-3rd grade. We re-located out of the area, and because of reputation, school scores, and many other reasons, enrolled my son in public school. Academically, my child is above and beyond ahead in the classroom. Having had the discipline in early years from school, he has been taught the meaning of respect in the classroom as well. So, when someone says oh..the Catholic schools are not up to date with academics, my son is proof, that they definitely are! I couldn't be more pleased to find that he has had zero problems and has fit in perfectly. When selecting a private Catholic school, in the southern Maryland area, St. Peters is an excellent choice. This will by our last year at St.Peters. The administration has promised to change, but the only change is the uniform and some cosmetic construction. It is still a very unhappy environment and the yelling continues. The teachers are overworked and the principle won't change her attitude. We're done!
This school provides a quality education in a secure and nurturing environment. Teachers are very dedicated and teacher turnover is low. The new pastor and the associate pastor are wonderful, involved with the school, and are great teachers of the Catholic faith. Class room size is 20-25 students. Discipline and respect are encouraged. Custodial staff keeps the school very clean.
