i am a student here and i have to say that i learned a bunch here over my time here. it has been so exciting cause the teachers are very nice and we have a biologey class and i got to see a frog and all the guts! it was crazy and i also like sports.

I am a freshman this year, and I have to say so far I have really enjoyed my time here at Rice Lake High. All of the teachers I have been acquainted with so far are energetic and friendly; they seem to genuinely love teaching kids. The principals are also really great. I have had good experiences with most of the classes I have taken. The teaching style of most of the teachers is very effective. Good effort and learning from mistakes is stressed, rather than getting all the right answers on homework. Sports and music are strong as far as co/extracurriculars. I believe there should be more clubs. This school feels almost like a second home to me. The atmosphere at Rice Lake High is very welcoming, nurturing, and comfortable.

This school overall is a good school. Some teachers seems to care more than others about the students and like most sport-focused schools all of the athletes get better treatment. The foreign language classes are very rewarding. Sports are alright, but there are not enough JV teams. I believe cheerleading needs a bigger squad but that is just my opinion. The art classes are wonderful. I have not participated in any music classes but everyone says that they are wonderful. Be careful before sending your child to this school, make sure they can handle being in an environment where they will get judged on looks and money. A few of the principals are ok. Overall the academic quality is very high.

This is a typical high school which works well for the kids who are highly motivated. Kids with problems fall through the cracks. More tech education classes should be available, so that the non-college bound kids could work on skills they need in the work force. As is typical in American schools there is too much money spent on athletics and special education. There are not enough AP classes offered, but some of the departments are very strong. The math and foreign language programs are excellent. There are many teachers who care about the kids.
