I've had two kids here since kindergarten, and can't say enough good things. The educational opportunities at Dawson never cease to amaze and impress me. The faculty and staff are experienced, creative and enthusiastic. And I love the atmosphere of community and respect that the school fosters in every student, K-12. My kids are excited to go to school each day: Who could ask for more than that?
the small class sizes, beautiful campus, and VERY caring teachers is what makes this school special. Also, the parents are great.... and eclectic. There are many interesting opportunities for a parent to plug into.
Our daughter has attended Dawson for 9 years now. We couldn't be more happy with her experience. The teachers challenge the students in so many ways. The trips and after school activities are amazing. The local community really needs to support their modest request for expansion.
My son, now in 8th grade, has gone to Alexander Dawson since 5th grade (the start of Dawson's Middle school) and we have had a wonderful experience. My son is very social and had many friends in the public school he went to before Dawson, so he would have thrived socially in either a small independent school like Dawson or a large public school, but what Dawson provided for him, that was lacking in his Boulder County public school, was that extra challenge that really pushed him to the next level of his abilities and the dynamic and engaging teachers have kept his love of learning alive. We had some fantastic teachers in the public school system and some very bad teachers that had tenure in the public school, that despite many complaints, were not leaving. Dawson does not have this problem and all the teachers are talented and inspiring.
