I am currently attending this school. I have progressed a little faster then some of the other studentsin my grade and they have supported me all the way. The teachers re wonderful, they allow your child to get on-on-one time if they need help on anything. I strongly reccomend this school to anyone wanting to go to a nice, peacful, neighborhood that you and your child will flourish and grow within.
RHS is the only school I can think of going to all four years. I used to think I wouldn't like it, that I'd rather go to schools downstate that are more...I don't know...expensive? Have more funding? The point really is, I was wrong. Funding or what the school has doesn't make the school a great school. I've been there almost a year now and to me the teachers make all the difference. We have some very competant teachers who can get you to pay attention to anything by the way they make the subject so interesting. I wouldn't dream of going to another school.
Roscommon High School is the best school around. There are endless opportunities if people simply want to look for them. The teachers genuinely care about the kids, and the academic expectations are high. I constantly hear other parents talk about how when their child went to college, they tested out of the basic courses, and even a college professor said that Roscommon students seldom if ever have to take remedial courses. My oldest daughter is at college right now and she is on the dean's list. When she first got there, she tested into higher level courses, and told me that they were almost too easy as she had learned the material at Roscommon. Overall, an excellent school. Many have tried to drag it through the mud lately, it seems, but it is just such an excellent environment that it will rise to the top again.
