Village Meadows Elementary School

I have had students at this school both recently and in the past. In the past (a number of years ago), I was pleased with the teaching my student received. However, the parent accessability to the principal was very poor. Questions were not answered, calls not returned and concerns not addressed. However, this has ALL changed when the new principal arrived. The entire attitude of the school staff, teaching and office, has changed. Everyone seems concerned and caring of the students and the principal now has an open door (literaly) policy which I very much appreciate. Parent involvement could be higher, but seems to be better than previously, and I have always felt that I am welcome to 'appear' and help when I wanted. My kids like to be at school, and the principal, teachers, aides, and office always seem to greet them with a smile.

unsatisfactory in several areas, mainly lack of positive parental contact, positive reinforcement and knowledge of the laws that protect our children from maltreatment and discrimination at school.

My daughter has attended VM in kindergarten for several months now. I could not be more pleased! The commitment by teachers and staff at all levels is very apparent. The PTO is ran by a mix of teachers and parents (Who is excluding the parents?) NO ONE ! The Principal Mr. Roppe is excellemt.

My child has attended VM for a couple years. I have mixed feelings. There seems to be very little parent inclusion/involvement. Involvement: I dislike the PTO being run by the teachers/Principal.
