I graduated from Tavares High School in 2008 and I loved Tavares. I thought that it was a great school and the teachers were wonderful!
I feel that this school is the best option for a child's education if you reside in Lake County. However, there are many issues with regards to how much interest is given to the child/parents concerns. They do not work well with you when it comes to helping your child move classes that they are struggling in and are not happy with. They are so dug in on the way they want things they forget about the fact that the students/parents feelings and concerns should come first. These are important years for our children and they should be a good memory not dreaded. The esembler program is an added feature this year and a plus for involved parents.

Overall, a good public school. I would say one of the best if your child takes honors/AP courses. Not as great for the child just taking *normal* courses-the teachers in those classes just do not care as much. I have emailed one teacher five times in the past 5 wks to get two questions answered. She has written back, but argues one question, never addresses the 2nd. Administration ok-Tatro is good, strict.
