Archbishop Neale School has a wonderful sense of community and has been in La Plata for 80+ years. Their graduates have been well prepared for high school and beyond. They are also a faith-filled community that performs service to the surrounding area.
Just started at ANS this year with my 6 year old. Overall, the school and the teachers are fine, but the school start time is RIDICULOUS! My 6 year old starts at 7:30! Which means that he needs to be up at 6:30 to eat breakfast, get dressed and have some time with us before we go out the door at 7:00. He is grumpy when we go to pick him up in the afternoon, which indicates to me that most of the day has been pretty bad for him. Several times he has had to take a nap when he got home, which then makes him want to go to bed later (8:30 pm), which then makes him grumpier in the morning. Clearly, the start time is for parents who are commuting, not for these kids.

I went to ANS from pre-k to 8th and I say it's the best elementry school in Southern Maryland. Yess, in all the counties. It has amazing teachers, great morals, a sense of communty, and people actually listen to what you have to say. People say the junior high teachers are the worst, but thats not right. They got me ready for highschool and the real world, and without them IDK who I'd be. So thanks to you guys. thanks ANS!!! Without you idk where I'd be. My high school grades are amazing and have a very promising life just because of the ANS faculty and staff! :)
