A great school, is dependent on its great teachers and the relationship and support they have with the parents. I have heard pros and cons of various teahers, but from my son's experience, they all seem to at the least, love and care for the educational needs of the individual student. They also stress the parent-teacher relationship- and getting parents involoved in the edcation of their child. It is due to this, that many students succeed in not only this school system, but this school. We really love it here- the people, the atmosphere, and the dedication to teaching to the level of the student, not just the state-wide standards. Many students here are grasping concepts above the standards and I am thankful for that the teachers do not only refuse to hold the children back, but they encourage them to succeed by offering a challenge class, and a assistance class.
I have had nothing but good things with this school. They have always done what they could to help me in any way. The school is one reason why I do not want to leave Pike Co. It's hard to find such a great place of learning.
The schools are good, especially the primary and elementary school. Everyone there cares for and loves the children very much. They stress kindness, morals, etc. The middle school was not good at all in my daughters experience. The high school is also good. My complaint is with the 'district' special education department. I would like to say I am very please with the curriculum they have here. The teachers, office personale, all staff is friendly and courteous. I am looking forward to a new year with this school and cannot wait to get involved. My daughter loved it and I noticed a lot in a short time of coming here from another district. I could not say enough good things about this school. They concentrate on what really matters and that is the students our children's education and not just scores or trying to parent which is our job. They do there job and beyond and for that I am thankful. Great Job! I do wish more of a playground but that is really it.
