We are new to the school this year. My daughter is in the first grade and overall I am very pleased with the school as a whole. I am concerned, however, that they do not level for math and reading until 3rd grade. My daughter is very advanced (reading on a 4th grade level and doing 2nd grade math when she started 1st grade) and is VERY bored in class. It is to the point that she is having behavior problems for the first time. The teacher is great and is trying but with so many students and levels in one class she just can't give my daughter the advanced work she needs. As a teacher and a parent I would have been much happier with leveled classes. On a side note - I understand from teachers and parents alike that this is the first year they have not leveled classes.
I love South Topsail Elementary, not just for what the facility, staff, principals, bus drivers and teachers provide, but how much the parents are involved with the students lives. It is absolutely amazing to me how much it helps develop our children! I commend all the wonderful people who are involved in my childs life at South Topsail Elementary.

I am very pleased with the 3rd grade teachers, esp. Ms Persichetti. All teachers make my child feel important and not just a number.

My oldest daughter went k-5th & had wonderful teachers every year. My 2nd daughter will be in the 2nd grade and each year we have been very pleased. The principal is so loving and kind to all the children. She is involved in every aspect and really cares for each child. It is a blessing to have such a wonderful school for our children to attend.
