School is okay but teachers do not always do their jobs, instead of providing resources (even when asked) when a child is having trouble in an area, they want to hold them back a year. K-1 was very bad experience for my child, he is at a new school, not being held back and is doing great, because the teachers here take the time and actually care, they do not cast aside any child for any reason. My child actually looks forward to school now, where at Smith he dreaded every single day. The difference was night and day. Teachers and office staff I give thumbs down in my experience. The principle and counselor however were good.

I had my student attend here for K-1st then moved and I am very sad he had to go. Kindergarden was rough for him but he had an amazing first grade teacher who taught well but also cared so much! Thanks again Mrs. Brigham!!

I have one child that is currently attending Smith Elementary, and one that is now in 5th grade, who attended Smith. This school is not as up to date as I would like to see. The office staff may try to know all the students, but they don't. They can be rude and seem to be noncaring. Mrs. Rogers does a great job with the students, as does Mr. Wedesky. Most of the teachers I have experienced do a great job. Don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch.

It is very true that the counselor is great and really involved with all of the kids. The Principal always takes the time to listen to concerns, and take needed action. However, I have not at all been impressed with the teaching staff (the ones that I have interacted with). I also don't agree with the Kindergarden schedule, they attend 3 days one week and 2 days the next, it's hard to keep the kids on a schedule. Once first grade starts they attend full time, I think they need to have kindergarden students attend half days five days a week, to prepare them.
