Cummings is a great school i am a student at cummings. We do not have a high gang population. the majorty of students at cummings are really good kids. its just that people put them down so they feel that there is no hope for them. Instead of talking down and adding alot of negativity to our school, how about acknowledging the good things that we have and are trying to accomplish. cummings has been around for a very long time and has changed over the years.Cummings has a strong history in the county it was one of the first intergraded schools in Alamance Co. I plan on keeping Cummings apart of our history! 'c/o 2010' second to none
Cummings does get a bad rap, which is unfortunate. I think the upcoming year will be the turning point for the school. A new administration is coming aboard, dedicated teachers are staying with new ones replacing the not-as-dedicated teachers, and more support from the district office make Cummings look quite hopeful. My ratings reflect the current situation at Cummings, not what I hope for next year... if that were the case, it would be all fives!
I go to Cummings now and on the outside it may seem like a violent, bad school but 95% of the students here are not like that. We have great teachers and we learn what we need to learn in order to graduate. I have a 4.0 gpa and I am drug free and so are all of my friends. So don't listen to heresay about Cummings because every school has a few problems they just cover them up. However, as soon as something happens in Cummings it is on the front page of the newspaper. I don't appreciate anyone talking bad about my school because they don't know what they're talking about!
I am a graduate from Cummings and am sad to say it isn't what it used to be. Gang violence and drug use is high and students aren't learning the things they need to learn. My sister goes there now and I fear almost everyday for her safety.
