I attended MIHS in the early 1970's, an excellent school for students who were interested in learning & making something of themselves, it provided student involvement thru excellent school & community spirit, which continues today. My older son graduated in 2006, is at U of F, an honor student, continues to make excellent grades because of the AP and Honors classes at MIHS; participation in Math Bowls; FBLA; & other clubs. For 3 years he made it to Nationals in FBLA, placed 6th, 6th & 3rd in the country. My youngest son is at MIHS, an honor & gifted student who takes all high level classes, has made all A's since entering MIHS, is going to FBLA National competition next week. I believe the teachers, principal & club participation are excellent. Students can go however far they would like, all they have to do is show an interest. Go MIHS

MIHS is good high school that will be what you make of it. It has a strong honors and AP program and reasonable athletics programs. The music/drama/arts programs are well established and active. Parents tend to participate at the school. There have been few if any discipline issues in the years I have been here (6). The staff is helpful, friendly and very responsive to student and parent needs. I recommend getting to know your child s counselor and keeping in touch to ensure the right classes are taken, especially in the junior and senior years. I would give MIHS a 9 out of 10 rating.
