Abney is a terrific school. I went to Abney as a child, and now my son goes there. Last year he was in Kinderarten, and the teachers and staff were top-notch at staying on top of his food allergy issues. I never worried about him in their care, which is rare for me! We can't wait for first grade this year. A++!

We moved here to be in the Abney district because it is an excellent elementary school. Abney has received the School of Excellence award. I have 4 kids, all have attended Abney, still have one child there. All have been in the best educational experience possible in public schools.

We love it! We just moved here and we are so glad about our decision. We chose Abney and then found our neighborhood. Staff is great! PTA has great relationship with school. Great attitude of staff (teachers and others) Work as a team.
My daughter is currently in the 2nd grade at Abney and we love it! Kindergarten was soo great. The teachers were wonderful & really made us 'first-timers' feel comfortable. 1st Grade was just as great & now in 2nd grade, we are old pros. The Staff at Abney is wonderful. They really care about each & every child. And the new principal, Mrs. Durham is awesome. She is constantly walking the halls, talking with children, visiting classrooms, etc, etc. She is a hands-on Principal and I like that. She even works the car-rider line from time-to-time. :) The children seem to be very well behaved while at school and well mannered. I always have children opening doors for me, which is so nice to see. The only downside to Abney is the lack of land. Abney is land-locked and cannot expand to accomodate its ever-growing student body.
