The assistant principal, Mr. Powell, is a mean spirited man who hands out harsh punishments for trivial infractions. He treats every child like a juvenile delinquient, and rules the school by intimidation. I have complained about his innapropriate behavior on more than one occasion, and the principle always defends him. I have an honor roll student who is accomplished in many extra-curricular activities and has never had a disciplinary incident prior to attending this school. Mr. Powell makes his life a living hell. I have been told that this is his standard behavior towards all of the students.

This was our child's first year in public school and we were very pleased with AMS. All of her teachers were just great and we were very greatful. She was well accepted & enjoyed it very much. It was not hard for her to adjust to public school even though she had been in private schools since kindergarten. We think that AMS is the best and the teachers are absolutely wonderful. We prayed that this would be a good experience for our daughter and it has been just that. We had absolutely no problems what so ever and is thankful that the Lord lead us to such a good school and great teachers. We would like to send a special thank you to Mrs. Peebles for being such a great influence in our daughter's life. God Bless each & everyone and we hope everyone has a safe & blessed year.

I have been very disappointed with Aynor Middle School. Some of the teachers scream at the students, they call their students names, they are not helpful and most have a bad attitude towards their students. Some, but not all, disciplinary actions that are taken against the students are not appropriate for the misbehavior that the student does. When a student is confronted by a bully or being pushed around and tries to defend theirself they are in as much trouble as the student that started the altercation. No time is taken to find out details of the matter, and when details are found out, both children are punished the same. This only produces a climate of injustice for the bullied child. Breaks are not given on a daily bases and bathrooms are not safe. At the present, 2 teachers have met our expectations of being professional, fair, and consistent.
