Any one who thinks Edgewater has little to offer, hasn't been looking. This school offers homework clubs, drama club, art club, math club, basketball, and cheerleading (just to name a few). Students that want to be involved have many opportunities to do so. Students having difficulty are offered a multitude of options. Teachers at Edgewater donate their own time before and after school to tutor. There are also both paid and volunteer tutors that come in during the school day, in addition to 2 of the 13 classrooms are for children identified with learning disabilities.

I have a daughter in the 5th grade at edgewater. She has been there since her 1st grade year.the first 2 years she was there I thought she would excell there, but as she moved into her 4th grade year the class seam to be larger now and they have them transfering from class to class. I think Tps is trying to push our children to hard and learn to much to fast. I think teachers and parents are for getting these our children they need time to play and have fun not go to school 6 1/2 hours a day and have 3 to 4 hours of home work a night where is there time to be kids? There is no after school activities set up by the school. there is room for improvement at edgewater.

I feel that this school needs to be updated, alot of the children are not recieving the education they should. There are not any programs for children with learning disabilities, there are also no afterschool activities offered by the school.( as in sports or cheerleading.) As an involved parent in my childs education I feel as if I have run into walls when dealing with certian teachers (not all). As long as the majority are passing they forget about the kids having diffuculities. Its a small school and I feel that some of the teachers need to be more aware of learning problems with some students and be more willing to talk to the parents and due more evulations on children that do fall behind in class.
