I moved from Spring because of how horrible it is. I absolutely love Oak Ridge High School and you can definetly tell a difference between the two schools. I have made life long friends and am recieving a great education. This is a great school.

Another former student: keep in mind that this is a public school in a suburban atmosphere. Considering the state of public schools these days, I would say Oak Ridge High School puts in a tremendous effort to educate and secure the well-being of their students. Trust doesn't have to exist between students/staff. Students need to start recognizing what their role is in a public school. That role is to learn; to receive the best education possible from the school. Nothing else. Anything more than that is a privilege, and those can be revoked at any time. Privileges are not freely given, and I think the Faculty and Staff of this school recognize that. The students, however, could use a little more education in this area. Overall - ORHS rates as a 4 in my book. Quality public education.

As a former student of Oak Ridge I would highly disagree with the parents listed on this site. Between not knowing or not security is going to be searching you, because they have a 'feeling' your going to start a fight; or the biased decision-making of the principals, it's really hard to find comfort and joy going to school the next day when there is so little trust between staff and student. As far as grades go, they are almost the worst in the district, and it doesnt help that the teachers are poorly paid and don't feel like they can do their job. The best thing i can say is the award winning band and choir, but beyond that with only a few select teachers who acculy like to teach, it is embarrasing to say i ever went to Oak Ridge High School and its on a fast downhill-slope
