The staff at Foley Intermediate do not seem to want parents bo be involved in their children's education. I find that sad. Also, too much time wasted on whether someone wore a belt than on math skills.

I also have a boy in 5th grade all boys class, and a girl in 4th grade all girls class. I have noticed the same thing about the'binder'. i mean come on really? my son gets in trouble for talking all the time. But what do you expect..no talking in the gym, hall, class, bathroom, lunch room!!! They do not have recess anymore, so when do they expect these kids to be kids? if i wanted my kids in military school, i would have put them there!! I hope someone prints this out and sends it to the school. They really need to change things around. I can not wait till my kids are out of this school!!!

I have a son in the all boys class. The purpose of this class was to cater to the unique differences between boys and girls learning styles. I am discoveing the very traits that make boys unique such as restlessness, talking, hands on, etc. and the very things these boys are being punished for. They have grouped all these boys together, given them teachers with less than 5 years teaching experience and expecting these children to be as still and quiet as robots. I don't know about the girls classes, but the boys' classes are not doing what they were designed to do.
I am a parent of a 4th grader that attended Foley Intermediate this year. I have to agree with the parent from the previous post. My son also had to sit in the office because he forgot his belt one day. Missed class because I was working until I got there with his belt. I understand that there is a dress code for Baldwin County Schools, but when a child has to sit in the office because of a belt missing I feel like there is something wrong with that. A child should not have to miss any class time due to a belt missing from their unform. There were other minor issues I also had with this school. I will give this school a plus when it comes to the all boys class. My son loved it! He won't be going back to this school due to problems with FMS.
