I am a senior at West Monroe High School and I am very proud to say that it is a wonderful school with great staff and students.

I'd like to start off by saying that I am proud to be a student at this school. I've heard on more than one occasion that the students are very well-rounded and have their priorities straight. Yes, there are some bad apples, but they are taken care of by the staff and administration. Our facilities are excellent: almost every classroom has an overhead projector, a television, and a computer. I'm aware that many schools are fortunate to have even one of those things. The school offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. We are perhaps best-known for our football team. One of the only problems I have, however, is that there seems to be some type of social ring, where you're almost looked down upon if you're not apart of it. That goes for most of the schools in the area, however.

Pros: * The sports programs afford the school the ability to have more financial resources to provide a quality environment for the students. * Some phenomenal stand-out teachers. Cons: * Too conservative even by Southern standards--freedom of expression and thought are thwarted by the school's administration. * Favorites are played within the school to football players and supporting organizations; these social rings are supported by the 'community'. While this is more like the world, save the real-world learning for college. HS should be about realizing the potential of all individuals. I gave it 3 stars because amidst the cons, it could be worse.
