Sumner Hill has so far been my favorite of the schools in the Clinton Public School District! Sumner Hill is also where I learned the most. It truly bridges the gap between Junior High, and High School! The teachers were the best! The one thing that stands out the most is peer to peer tutoring in the cafeteria on certain mornings. The counselors paired people who needed tutors in certain classes with people who were doing extremely well and who agreed to help. The math teachers also stayed after school to help on Tuesdays. It has not been long since I left Sumner Hill. I am now a Junior at Clinton High! The only negative thing about Sumner Hill was the many detentions for every litte thing, but that could also be a positive because it teaches great discipline.

Sumner Hill has provided a diverse, well-rounded educational environment for my child. The staff is dedicated and capable. My child is very satisfied with the relationships he has forged among the faculty, administration and student body. If there was an area for improvement I would have to say I would prefer to see dress codes more carefully monitored. It is hard for me as a parent to teach proper grooming when there is not a corresponding standard at the school. Realistically, that is less a fault of the school and more an indication of society's norms. The only other area I would seek to improve is to raise the academic demands placed on students. My child is an A-B student, no genius, but cruises through his studies with relative ease (<30 min. homework/night). I had hoped the ninth grade curriculum and honors classes would have challenged him more.

I am the parent of a current student at this school. I have been extremely disappointed in the administration of this school. I have always been pleased with the other schools in this district; however, administration at this school is alarmingly out of touch with reality. They play favorites. This is very unfortunate for the children that attend this school. My older child attended this school and it was the same way then as it is now.
