This is my son's third year at Arlene Hein and my husband and I are very pleased with academic success so far. The teachers he has had so far have worked well with him. The leadership team is doing a wonderful job. I see only good things for this schools future.
Overall, I would consider Arlene Hein a decent school. However, like most schools they focus on teaching the basics (spelling, math, grammar). History, social studies, computers and science is an afterthought. They need to split the class into different learning levels so the advanced students can actually learn something. My biggest problem is that there are a lot of troublemakers at this school that are way too advanced for their years.
Good school with good leadership. The teachers are very good however some seem unwilling to differentiate instruction. They do not have any after school activities available for K-3 grades. Once they reach 4th grade, there's band, sports, etc.
I'am very happy that all three of my children have had the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful high ranking award winning school district , which is Elk Grove.If you are new to the sacramento area , I personally recommend Arlene Hein .I love this school so much because the staff , principal , vice- principal , and teachers make my family and children feel. It feels like home and family , very comforting and encouraging . Everyone , knows everyone and everyone is help , understanding , kind and respectful.There is no better environment for children to grow and learn , than one where they feel safe and you as there parent know they are getting the best education .Arlene Hein is an experience my children will look back full of wonderful memories , but most impotantly will impact there future as adults profoundly.
