I am very pleased with the school. They have wonderful and caring teachers... Their staff and principal are very friendly and attentive; GO HAWKS!!!
Despite the lower rating, I have seen great academic growth in my 3rd grader. Her teacher is WONDERFUL... caring, encouraging and enthusiastic. The school runs rather smoothly and the kids seem to feel happy and safe. This is our first year at MC, and I can only hope her 4th grade teacher is as great as this year's!
it's been a good year for us and we have enjoyed our first year at M.C. The teachers are great. their are a lot on english as a second languages student as I saw another person mentioned. but on a side note it would have gotten a higher score from me but for the principal. He is very authoritarian and I heard him yell at a kindergartner in a very harsh way. This is not a style that I agree with for that age group. This has colored my views of him sure but he seems to be nearly militant even with 5 year olds.
Though the majority of students are early-English learners from modest neighborhoods, the staff and admin present challenging academic programs, and work closely with parents to encourage and support 'subject' and social learning. Enrichment programs are very good.
