It is very difficult being a leader of a school. You can't please everyone. As an educational leader I must do what I feel is in the best interest of children. Making sure the children are prepared for the future is one of the decisions I must make. Extending the day for dual immersion was one of them. Sure the children only get one hour a day in Spanish, but, I also fund a teacher so the chldren can get an extra hour and a half of Spanish after school. They are getting the best of both languages.

My child is one of the first students enrolled in the duel emersion (Spanish/Engilsh) program at this school but its too bad the principal has made some bad choice this year in the program. The program was running great until the third grade when there was no Spanish duel emersion higher so my child now only receives an hour of Spanish instead of the half a day. Next year is even going to be worse. I would really think hard before I would but my child in this program at this school.

My children have been with this school since the the first day it opened. I love the teachers because of their commitment to students. Principal Alvarez is an absolute wonder! All schools should have the parent/teacher participation that is seen here. I will miss them sorely! The school has commited it's self to acedemic growth by providing afterschool programs, duel emersion of spanish/english classes and many other activities afterschool for individual growth. The principal also has a track record of API growth every year with all schools she has been a part of and has gained accredidation in her field by providing every student with the support needed to suceed.
