I have a special education child in school at the elementary and am extremely pleased that the program is not overloaded with students that really are not special ed. It is a program for truly disabled children, not ones that parents don't work with at home or have home issues. Keep up the good work!
This is a great school if you have a 'normal' child who does not need extra help, be it with learning disabilities or mental/behavioural issues. Don't ever hope to easily get an IEP or that they will honestly follow it without you putting up a huge fight.

I attended North Platte as a child and now my daughter is making her way through the school. She is always excited about school and I love the parent involvement and communication between the teachers and parents. My daughter is in 1st grade and has many extracurricular activities available to her regularly. She has music, phys ed, and library; then art and computers on alternating days. My daughter is challenged by her academic studies, yet they are within her abilities. Her teachers and administration are very thorough and fair in handling issues.
