As a very involved parent of two boys, I am impressed with the offering(s) at PHS. Advanced courses are provided for students who excel in the areas of math, science, and English; extra curricular activities meet the needs of many students. Fortunately, the school has worked to keep the number of students per class at or under 20; that means there are two sections of most classes offered. Teachers attend trainings to develop current programs, and the school's WASL numbers are excellent in the areas of Reading and Writing. Students who choose to go the Academic Pathway have been successful in college and are thankful they attended a rigorous, caring, spirited school such as Pomeroy. Students, parents, and teachers are involved; the administrators care, the teachers care, and that results in most of the students caring. I am very pleased that my sons are here!

My family and I have lived in Pomeroy for several years and we have three children in the elementary school here.We and several others in this area are very dissatisfied with the opportunities that are offered to the children.There is a severe lack of knowledge and understanding of childrens' needs by all school distict employees. Every attempt to discuss possible solutions is met with complete disregard and disrespect by the controlling members.There are VERY few extracurricular activities offered and very little assistance for children with special needs of any form. Every year another program is removed that the kids need due to lack of funding.We pay more to the school every year but the only things that are changed is higher pay for employees.They also recieve state funded grants,but nothing is done to improve the curriculum or learning environment.Many of us do not feel that this money is truly accounted for.

To whom it may concern,We have lived in Pomeroy Washington for 11 years, and this school district in our (and several other persons) opinion is well below average in many ways. They have a severe lack of knowledge and understanding when it comes to children.The children are not offered the opportunities that they should be and many have dropped out due to problems not being resolved between student,teacher,and principal.And those still there deal with daily turmoil for expressing their right to learn in an unbiased atmoshere. Unfortunatly ,the more involved the parents try to become to remedy the situation, the more the children are singled out in school by all forms of authority.The school is also more than willing to inform other authorities about problems that they 'think' may exist without first contacting parents.Any attempt to address problems has met with full and utter resistance.It is not a pleasant environment.
