I loved Vanderbilt when my two children first started there in Kindergarten and 4th grade. In 6th grade however my oldest daughter suffered severe bullying. We were not able to resolve the issue with the staff. I also had problems with how the children were disciplined in the middle school. My daughter has very poor organizational skills and her late and missing assignments led to a couple of out of school suspensions. How does that teach a child organization? When I questioned this I was told that suspension was the policy and there was no interest in working together to change the policy. My kids now attend Holland Public and while it is not perfect, my children are safe and accepted. We have had no trouble with bullies and we have worked with the school to find ways to help my chronically disorganized daughter and she has improved dramatically.

My children attended Vanderbilt Charter Academy prior to our family relocating. We miss the staff, academics and so much more. Vanderbilt provides many opportunities for parent involvement as well. I would recommend Vanderbilt to parents seeking an exceptional education, safe environment and more for their children.

I have had four chidren go through this school and had a wonderful experience! We have had almost every teacher and they have each been highly educated (most have Masters Degrees) and very caring about my child's needs. There is a para-pro in each classroom so the teacher to student ratio is very low. I love this school and highly recommend it to others!
