This is an amazing school, i went here and loved it. I had come from a much larger school and went to this on eand it was incredible. The teachers actually care if the students suceed or not, and the make learning really fun. I have a 3.7 average when I attended. also, socially you can grow. This is a greatttt school!

As a former student I would rate GSHS as a superior school in academics. The teachers who instructed me were excellent at making difficult material interesting. The natural beauty and high living standard of the area attract high quality educators. However, due to the fact that many of the kids who attend the school are quite wealthy and have spent most of their lives in the area, it can be quite difficault for many children to fit in and adjust. In short, the school is academicallly outstanding, but socially stunted.

As a 2005 Graduate of Gulf Shores High School, I attribute my successes to my years here. The faculty taught me to embrace my individuality and to become who I want to be. I currently attend The University of Montevallo, where I edit the campus newspaper, hold high offices in my sorority and Student Government, and produce my own radio and TV Network from 6PM-12AM on weekdays. Gulf Shores High School is big on academics as well as extracurriculars and philanthropic projects. It was at this school where I found my humanitarian niche. The only thing I find that could be seen in a negative way is that a lot of the students have gone to school with each other their whole lives. Could be bad on the new kids. I have lived in Orange Beach my whole life... never had this problem.
