Sandusky High school is a great school that offers it students opportunities to establish themselves in a possitive way.

SHS made me who I am today. For those who have bad things to say about public school, you should have sent your kids to SHS. I learned more about life in the walls of this place than anywhere else... Diversity, Friendship, Teamwork, Time Management, and so much more!!

Sandusky High School is a full-service educational establishment. They have a full vocational program on-site, and serve physically-, developmentally- and behaviorally-disabled students from several school districts. There are only a few school in the state with similar programs, yet Sandusky is consistently compared to school in towns of similar size, rather than to schools with similarly complex student bodies. For this reason, the state 'grade card' is seriously flawed. Sandusky is a remarkable school.

Sandusky City Schools was once at the forefront of exceptionality in education. However, Sandusky has become stagnant in its effort to remain one of Ohio's largest comprehensive high schools under one continuous roof. Although it appears tremendous on paper, this school demonstrates a severe disconnect in preparing its students to be successful in an institution of higher learning. Sandusky has an association with higher academic resources with whom they can establish effective collaborations. However, the district uses such opportunities for menial advancement of select students via programs as PSEOP and Tech-Prep (which is still housed within the high school). This district is overlooking an ostentatious opportunity to collaborate with its local State Theater to establish an elementary magnet school for the arts. It has allowed its restructuring needs to impede on educational advancements amid financial crisis. Futuristic proponents see the vitality that remains robust within this district. I can only pray that the future leadership of this district will take the reigns of education to a higher level by meeting the learning needs of all of its constituents via school choice; thereby making the experience meaningful and more effective.
