I feel CHS deserves an excellent rating and mainly because of its history in the past and the improvements they've made. It used to be known as a ghetto school but that is not the case anymore. Kids can get an awesome education at this school and the teachers and counselors are willing to support the students who are serious about their academic schooling. This is an established school academically and they have made many improvements to the school such as remodeling the auditorium, building a new media center and providing students with computer/internet capability. We actually wanted our daughter to go to this school for the IB program, which is tough but not unmanageable for a student who has college bound goals. Keep up the good work CHS! Go Falcons!
Yes, they do have many programs to help students with almost any difficulty. Yes they actually do want to help the students, but the reason why many activities are not participated by those who need them is because, and only because their parents either do not make them, or they do not want to participate in it, so they do not tell their parent(s)/guardian(s) anything about it. When parent teacher conferances comes the students lie to their parents at often times, and say they have not heard anything abou tit when they announce these activities several times in the first place. I've seen this several times from fellow students that I saw, and know for a fact have heard about it. Parents NEED to dig in with their children and make sure their children are participating in activities/programs when needed since many students can not do this them selves.
