I believe AMS is a very safe, well-organized foundation for a learning experience. The teachers actually teach and make sure every child understands the material. Every student is given work that is at their level. My first year here was the first year I ever felt challenged. It was the first time that I was given work at my level. Mr. Foster is a very good principal who doesn't let students get away with things. The dress code is enforced overly well. I feel safe in this school. The campus is kept very clean. There are lots of extra curricular activities. The art teachers especially involve students in projects and clubs. The arts are not minor at this school. Mr. Foster is at every dance. Students are not allowed to basketball games without permission slips. Teachers always make sure that every student gets home SAFELY after events. Appling is great!
This school has incredible teachers that make it an extremely well rounded school! The principal, I believe does not carry out the rules as well as he should. There have been several scenarios where the 'good' kids have gotten in trouble while the 'bad' kids get away with everything. If he is the principal he should know the good from the bad and know how to handle a certain situation. I believe that some of the ISS rules are a little bit too harsh, you can get sent there just by talking at lunch when you're on 'silent'. Overall, this school is excellent and safe, but there are flaws that should be fixed immeadietly.
My entire family loves Appling Middle School. Mr. Foster and the rest of the faculty is just the best of the best! We've never had a negative thing to say about this top notch school.
I love this school. My oldest child is in 2nd year here and I have 4 more following him. Mr. Foster is fantastic. He is tough but he really loves these kids. He expects great things out of them and usually they don't disappoint. He knows them and can call most of them by name. The teachers are fantastic and they really motivate the students to excel.
