I can't say enough good things about McNair. I have had three children go through their gifted/accelerated program; all three have been helped immeasurably, not only because of the strong and demanding programs but because of the caring, knowledgeable staff. From the principal to the custodians, everyone at this school is friendly and very capable. Absolutely everyone at this school is treated with respect and kindness, and you can feel it almost from the moment you walk in. One great recommendation is that I know lots of kids who graduate from McNair come back and visit and/or help out with various things. How many schools have kids who like the school so much they want to return regularly? In the gifted/accelerated team, the science and social studies programs are especially strong. The performing arts program is terrific. The new performing arts building will be great, as will be the new track!
My childrens' most memorable school years are from McNair. I'm pleased to say that they are enrolled in the top colleges now, on scholarships. The discipline and love for learning they acquired at McNair placed them high above the average.
My son has been at McNair for one year. At first I was hesitant to send him there due to the neighborhood, but the saftey there is top notch. He is in the best gifted program I could ever have imagined for him. He has learned more this year than other years combined! The teachers give more than any others I have encountered. I'm so happy I decided to send him this school.
I am extremly impressed with the various activities and motivation given to students to excel. Nitish reallys enjoys this school and this school has changed his whole outlook on education.
