Chapel Hill ISD is a GREAT place for students. I currently have two children in the district. The school offers great programs (including advanced classes - AP, Dual Credit, large fine arts program, large vocational educational program, and a wide range of athletic programs for both girls and boys). I believe that the individual needs of my children are met each day by qualified and caring teachers.
I agree with the review posted by a parent on 3/17/07. I am a graduate of CHHS, my children have attended each campus. I am employed at the HS and see the work and dedication that goes into each day. Our principal strives for excellence. We have great teachers and every staff member cares for each child. We were reclassified years ago from 4A to 3A because of state changed the number requirements. The high school enrollment is at an all time high resulting in our policy of not excepting students living out of our district. The bond to add space will enable us to grow, however our size now enables us to know our students. We are working to identify and target the need of each student and improvements are being seen. We are a family in Chapel Hill.

School is extremely punitive in its approach to discipline. Doesn't encourage all students to be the best that they can be. Every child is not AP material nor are all National Merit finalist; however, each child brings value to its environment when you look for the value. School should assist in developing the whole child. Most teachers at this school seem to feel that if you aren't in the AP program, you are not worth their time. This school has gone from 4A to 3A; they are leaving faster than they are arriving.

I love Chapel Hill ISD. I have a son and daughter are currently attending CH schools. The teachers are the best. The academic program is strong with many students taking advanced placements classes. There is a program with the local colleges that allows dual enrollment so when the kids graduation high school they could have 16 credit hours of college. The sports programs are very strong with football and basketball state championships. Equal mix of races and financial/social status. Great small town community close to large city conveniences. Many students return after graduating college and teach or work nearby. The current high school principal returned after working at other school districts. The asst. super returned after receiving doctorate degree. Great kids, teachers and admin.
