Deltona Elementary School

My son goes to this school and he loves it. He is in first grade ( Mrs. Licht class). They keep you updated and are always there when needed.

My daughter has attended Deltona since Pre-K. She is currently in 5th grade and we are sad to be leaving next year. She has had a variety of teachers from 1st year to teachers who have been there as long as the school has (or at least it seemed that way). I love the staff and how interested they are in helping both the parents and students. My daughter has of course had a few teachers throughtout the years that just didn't seem to achieve as much as we would have wanted but all in all it is a great school. There are a couple of teacher I would like to commend for what a great job they have done in gaining not only the respect of my daughter but challenged her where she needed it...Mrs. Jones (4th grade) and Mr. Weed (science teacher)

I'm a fifth grader at DES, and since I've been here this school has grown from average to great, and they will keep growing.

My son started Kindergarten this year at Deltona. He loves his teacher, Mrs. Dunham. She is very on top of everything. She keeps parents updated with weekly news letters home, responds quickly to notes asking questions, and has a website with a class calendar so I know when my son has PE vs Art or Music each day. I can also email her with any questions via her website. We are very happy with her, it has made the transition from pre-school into Elementary school easy on me as a parent, knowing I am kept up to date on my son, but also that my son loves his teacher. Deltona has worked very hard to meet all of the new class size requirements ( my son has 17 students in his class), the staff is pleasant.
