Mount Olive High School ensures a competitive learning environment for its students. They expect quality work and give out challenging assignments. If you want your child to be challenged, this is a good school. The majority is middle class/upper middle class area, a majority of white students, not many clubs devoted to humanities or english and history subjects, but there are a variety of sports to choose from. Academically, it's great. Socially, it's okay, not very diverse at all though.
As I was trying 2 find the best possible school (classes, activites) in a not so stuck up neighborhood I decided to sent my kid to MO. As a parent of two, I love it. they challenge the students and have a wonderful campus.
As a graduating student in the class of 2009, I can honestly say my high school experience here has been dreadful-to say the least. My freshman year, before the referendum took place, it was a lot of fun. There were not as many rules, but nobody violated the rules that were in place. Everything ran much smoother, and it did not feel as though we were locked in a prison. After the referendum, everything went down hill, getting worse and worse each year. The rules are absolutly ridiculous, and no other high school is as crazy as MO. They make everyting a federal case in this school. I do not reccomend sending your child to this school. Go Private or send them to a neighbor school- WM, Mendham, Randolph etc.
